Design

The design process begins with a site visit and initial consultation. RSL charges $200 for the first meeting with the client. During this meeting, the designer and the client, discuss the goals the client has for their landscape; the style of the landscape and the features within will be discussed. The designer will define the base price for the design portion of the project.

If the client decides to move forward with Rock Solid Landscapes for their project, the designer will create a design contract. The designer will explain the general steps involved in creating the design.

Next, a topographical survey of the site will be created. The designer will capture the site layout with all levels and utilities. From this, concept designs in 2d are produced. This stage concentrates on layout, rather than specific details.

Once the concept design has been approved, drawings will be developed into a master plan. Material palettes, planting plans, and spatial arrangments will be proposed.

Finally, the planting plan is created. The locations of all the proposed plants and a plant schedule will be presented. If the client is interested in the stewardship of their landscape, the designer will provide a maintenance contract for the service.
