This family purchased a neighboring property as an addition to their tiny back yard. Their new garden was completed in fall 2008. The focal point of the space is the Summer House, a multi-use building with architectural appeal and detailed craftsmanship, including a kitchen, dining area, fountain, and seating-height walls.
A large lawn provides space to play, while grape arbors and raised beds allow room for edibles. Perimeter beds are filled with ornamental plantings for the clients, who are dedicated plant enthusiasts. The stone steps provide a natural transition from the former space to the gracious new garden.
Rock Solid won an Award of Distinction for this garden from the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals.
